The Seven C’s of History

Ken Ham, of AnswersinGenesis.org, said it well as he pointed out: “The Seven C’s of History are seven biblical events that have affected, or will affect, the world. The Bible is the history book of the universe!”
CREATION (Genesis 1–2) takes us “Back to the Beginning” and reveals that God created a “very good” universe in six normal-length days about 6,000 years ago. “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good” (Genesis 1:31). What went wrong?
CORRUPTION (Genesis 3) shows The Fall of All about 6,000 years ago. Sin entered the World when Adam’s disobedience brought death, sickness, and sorrow into the world, thus leading to the need for a Redeemer. “Through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin” (Romans 5:12). As bad as things were, they got worse!
The CATASTROPHE (Genesis 6–9) was the global Flood of Noah’s day by which God judged the wickedness of man about 4,350 years ago. In Genesis 6–9 we read that God sent a worldwide watery catastrophe as judgment on man’s sin. He saved Noah and those with him on the Ark. The earth is full of the results of this flood. Many of the fossil and rock layers were formed during Noah’s Flood. “So He destroyed all living things on the face of the ground. Only Noah and those with him in the Ark remained alive” ( Genesis 7:23). Noah’s obedience to God to build the Ark saved mankind from extinction.
The CONFUSION (Genesis 10–11) at Babel came when God confused the language of Noah’s descendants, causing them to spread out and fill the earth about 4,200 years ago. Instead of obeying God’s command to fill the earth, Noah’s descendants stayed together and began to build a tall tower and city. From Genesis 11, we know that at the Tower of Babel, God confused the people’s speech, causing them to scatter over the face of the earth. That event explains why there are different language families and people groups. “Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth” (Genesis 11:9).
CHRIST (the Creator God who stepped into history to become a man) came to redeem the world from sin about 2,000 years ago. “But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons” (Galatians 4:4-5).
Christ did this by dying on the CROSS and paying the death penalty for those who receive Him about 2,000 years ago. “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthian 1:18).
As Christians, we look forward to the CONSUMMATION of all things in the future, when the Curse will be removed and God prepares a new heavens and the new earth for His children. “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, . . . . “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”” (Revelation 21:1-4).
